About · Mission and vision

Mission and vision.

What IICTP sets out to do, and the principles it holds itself to. These are aims, stated so they can be checked as we deliver.

Mission

A credential that proves capability.

To give technical practitioners a way to show what they can do, and employers a way to check it, through a vendor-neutral standard, fair assessment and a public record anyone can verify.

Vision

A standard the profession trusts.

A standard for technical practice that people trust because it is independent, open to review, and honest about what it does and does not show.

Principles

Four principles we hold to.

01

Vendor-neutral

The standard is not tied to one company’s products, and those who set it do not sell the training.

02

Independent

Standard-setting is kept apart from commercial operations. The board that will do it is being formed.

03

Verifiable

Every credential is designed to be checked by anyone in a public registry, without asking IICTP.

04

Honest

We state what is done and what is planned, and we correct mistakes openly.

Choosing a credential

Look at the options before you decide.

IICTP certifies technical practice. Other bodies certify other things, such as project management (PMI, at pmi.org) and agile and Scrum practice (Scrum Alliance, at scrumalliance.org). Read what each requires and tests on its own website, and choose what fits your role. We are not connected to them.
